Mrs. Logene Francis Blevins, age 86, of Jefferson passed away Thursday morning, June 29, 2017 at Ashe Assisted Living Memory Care Unit. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 4:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rev. Johnny Blevins and Logene's grandchildren officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday; two hours prior to the funeral service. She was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, June 2, 1931 to the late Troy Dewitt and Lonnie Sexton Francis. Logene was a member of Bristol Baptist Church. She worked for 40 years in the cafeteria of the Ashe County School System. She had an entrepreneurial spirit as she and her husband founded and operated Bristol 66 service station. She also operated a catering business. She specially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren; she was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. Logene was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Blevins; a step daughter, Doris Johnson. Mrs. Blevins is survived by: three sons, Dr. Rev. Johnny Blevins and wife, Vickie, of Elkin, Jimmy Blevins and wife, Judy, of Crumpler and Jody Blevins, of Jefferson; a daughter, Judy Miller and husband, Dr.John, of Pinehurst, NC; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
