Obituary of Almarea Bare

Mrs. Almarea Greene Bare, age 90, of Jefferson passed away Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin York and Rev. Russell Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Bare was born in Watauga County on August 11, 1928 to the late Ivery C. and Clemmie Cook Greene. She was part owner/operator of Boone Outdoors Equipment and Boone Honda. She was a member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing dresses for her daughter, Marea. Almarea and her husband, Glenn operated a roller skating rink in different gyms throughout the county. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jesse Bare on December 23, 2002; a granddaughter, Angelique Weaver. Mrs. Bare is survived by a son, Steven Bare and wife, Lori Ann, of Jefferson; a daughter, Marea Weaver and husband, Truiett, of Crumpler; a brother, Clarence Greene, of Deep Gap; a great-granddaughter; three step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers accepted or memorials made to the Friendly Grove Baptist Church, 444 Buck Mountain Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
