I was truly blessed to serve under Scott Sears while he commanded USS ALBUQUERQUE. He was good-hearted, expert at our craft, and you always knew where you stood with him. To Barbara, family, friends and shipmates may you find great peace in the knowledge that Scott died secure and assured of his Salvation in Jesus Christ, and confident in the promise of eternal life. May the Lord comfort you in your grief. Thank you, Lord for his leadership and mentoring.

A friend and esteemed colleague in affairs of our community. A man of superb intellect, charisma, wisdom and character who left us way before we were willing to let him go.

Even thought I did not know Adml Sears personally, I feel a close kinship to this Submariner, having served 3 years in the NSN underwater canoe club back in the mid 60's. "Sailor, man your oars and full steam ahead".

My condolences to the family. I was the XO of Barbel, when Scott joined the Submarine Force. He was a great addition to the wardroom with his inquisitive mind, knowledge and good humor. It was great having him aboard and wonderful to follow his Navy career in the years that followed. God speed.

I can only recall those Halcyon days at the Subase in Groton when we were in our prime. Scott, in command of Albuquerque (probably because he was the only submariner in '66 who was smart enough to spell it correctly)cut a mean figure both in port and in the Atlantic. Here's wishing him a "quiet sleep and a sweet dream" at the end of his long trick.
