Dee and family,
Just a note to remind you all how very much your family means to us and let you know that you will be in our prayers. Lee was a wonderful loving person. Everytime I hear "Ernest T. Bass" I think of Lee as that was what he nicknamed me years ago. I am grateful for all of the wonderful memories from when I spent time during my teenage years at the Barker home.....I felt just like family and still do. I love each of you very very much and please let Montie or myself know if there is anything whatsoever we can do to help you. We know that God will see you through.

The first time I met my father in law I was scared to death of him. Now I am having trouble imagining him not being there to argue basketball, go fishing, or just be there to talk about life. He will be missed dearly and he was not just family but a dear friend to me.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Lee was a friend. I worked with Lee several years at the NCDOT. We even went to hurricane Fran together. The world is a little less bright without him.
