Mrs. Carrie Hudler Lewis, age 92, of Wilkes Senior Village, formerly of West Jefferson passed away Monday morning, October 13, 2014 at Wilkes Senior Village. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, October 16, 2014, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Lewis was born in Ashe County on Monday, May 8, 1922 to the late Joseph and Ellen Wyatt Hudler. She was a Homemaker. Carrie was a member of Smethport United Methodist Church. She survived by a son, Thomas (Thom) Richard Lewis and wife, Vicki, of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Heather Sawyer and husband, Robert, of Winston-Salem and Rich Lewis and wife, Melissa, of Greensboro; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Sawyer, of Winston-Salem, Valorie Lewis, of Greensboro and Jacob Lewis of Greensboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
