Mr. Leonard Teaster, age 93, of Grassy Creek passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Hall and Rev. Eddie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Teaster Family Cemetery will military rites. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Teaster was born in Ashe County on September 18, 1921 to the late James and Carrie Stamper Teaster. He was in the Marines in WWII. He worked as an Agricultural and Cattle Farmer. He is preceded in death by two brothers; Guy Teaster and Henry Teaster; two sisters; Isabel Moore and Barbara Hamm. Mr. Teaster is survived by three sons; Willard Teaster and wife Grace of Hendersonville, Wayne Teaster and wife Tommie of Grassy Creek, and Randal Teaster of Grassy Creek; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
