Mrs. Ola McNeill Miller Greer, age 99, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Miller and Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-2Pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Greer was born in Ashe County to the late Kirby Smith McNeill and Rebecca Faw. Ola’s life was devoted to her family and caring for them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ambrose Miller and her second husband, Charles Albert Greer; a son, Joseph (Blaine) Miller; a daughter, Naomi Hartzog; and three step-children, Elsie Miller, Jess Greer, and Effie Moretz. She is survived by five daughters; Lillian Miller of West Jefferson, Patsy Ashley of North Wilkesboro, Sharon Trivette and husband Talmadge of West Jefferson, Mildred Sluder of Todd, and Joann Robinson and husband John of Grassy Creek; one daughter-in-law; Shirley Miller of West Jefferson, one sister; Belle McNeill of West Jefferson; seventeen grandchildren; fourty-five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
