Mrs. Evelyn Severt Hart, age 61, of Millers Creek passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center, after a 12 year battle of Leukemia. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Thomas and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 two hours prior to funeral service. Mrs. Hart was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, February 3, 1953 to the late Rev. Elbert Severt and Mary Woodie Severt. She worked as a Life Insurance Agent and later in life trucked with her husband, Don. She was a member at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church and sang in the church choir when she was able. She had many talents, playing the piano, singing but most of all cooking. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She would send cards to the sick and make phone calls; always trying to pass along good cheer. Evelyn also enjoyed fishing in lakes and saltwater. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all! She is survived by, her husband , Don Hart, of 34 years of marriage; a son, Mark Hart, of Asheboro; a daughter, Beth Miller and husband, Jeff, of Jefferson; her mother, Mary Woodie Severt, of Millers Creek; two brothers, James Severt, of Millers Creek and Johnny Severt, of Millers Creek; a sister, Levonda Roten, of Millers Creek; three grandchildren, Jake Miller and wife, Ashley, of Jefferson, Brandon Miller and wife, Lindsey, of Lansing and Maggie Hart, of Mountain City, TN; two great-grandchildren, Addy Miller and Jorden Miller, both of Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
