Mr. Gregory Alan Pruitt, age 35, of Liberty, NC, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Eldreth and Rev. Dean Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott-Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Friday, November 7, 2014two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Pruitt was born in Watauga County on Saturday, February 10, 1979 to Olan Michael and Martha Sue Shatley Pruitt. He worked for Davis-Elliott Electric. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was also preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Ares and Ethel Blevins Pruitt and his maternal grandfather, Grant Shatley. Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife, Rose Guy Pruitt, of four years of marriage; a step-son Carson James of Liberty, NC; his father and mother, Olan and Sue Pruitt, of Lansing; grandmother, Betty Shatley, of Lansing; a brother, Scott Pruitt and wife, Jean, of Fleetwood; two nephews, Brandon Pruitt and Morgan Pruitt also survive.
