I have searched for Rev. Howell for several years because I wanted to thank him for teaching guitar to me back in the mid 60's in Kannapolis, NC. I just now found the obituary. He was studying to be a minister at the time I knew him. He taught me a lot about music and I have enjoyed playing guitar for over 50 years since then. I remember a very nice, kind and very talented man. Condolences to his family.

Thoughts and prayers for all the family. Ken and Clarcy were two of my favorite people. When my Mother passed in 1997, I felt connected to my Mother when I saw Ken and Clarcy due to my Mom and Clarcy were good friends when they were young.

Can remember seeing Ken when he sang with "The Cracker Jacks" on WBTV channel 3 many years ago. More recently our church, Christian Unity Baptist Church would go to Forrest Ridge Assisted Living here in West Jefferson where he lived until just recently one Wed. night each month and sing for the residents and Ken would usually come and join in with us. Most of the time we could talk him into singing "Beulah Land," one of his favorite hymns for us!! We will miss him, he was always a blessing to know and visit with!! Love to his family and friends left behind......JBG

I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I do not know your family personally, I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29. May these words give you a new hope.
