Mr. Dean William Dixon, age 86, of Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, November 23, 2014 at North Carolina Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Hart and Rev. Dennis Love officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Dixon was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, March 6, 1928 to the late William Bert and Johnsie Little Dixon. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ilene Stump; a uncle, Blan Dixon Mr. Dixon is survived by: his wife, of 65 years of marriage, Jessie Phillips Dixon; a son, Michael Dixon and wife, Diane, of Jefferson; a daughter, Carolyn Jordan and husband, Jene, of High Point, NC; two sisters, Ruth Absher, of Wytheville, VA and Betty Caudill, of Oakton, VA; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
