Mr. Johnny Lee Lyall, age 75, of Jefferson passed away Monday afternoon, November 24, 2014 at Memory Care Unit of Ashe Services for the Aging. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Styron officiating. Burial will follow in the Orion Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00pm on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service. Mr. Lyall was born in McDowell County on Monday, August 14, 1939 to the late Larry Lee Lyall and Ella Miller Lemons. He retired from Leviton Mfg. Company, where he worked for over 30 years as a mechanic. He served in the United States Army and National Guard Reserves. He attended First Assembly of God Church. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Shatley Lyall on January 29, 2002. Mr. Lyall is survived by a son, Kenneth Lyall and wife, Jennifer, of Jefferson; a special friend, Eddie Van Dooren, of Jefferson; a step sister, Georgette Scott and husband, Larry, of Fleetwood; a step brother, Jean Claude Lyall and wife, Leigh, of West Jefferson; a granddaughter, Lily Lyall; two grandsons, John Bauguess and Jay Lyall; several nieces and nephews also survive.
