Mrs. Shirley Jean Childress Comer, age 71 of Todd passed away Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2014 at Hill View Family Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Norris and Rev. Joe Riley Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral services. Mrs. Comer was born in Ashe County on March 7, 1943 to the late John Thomas Childers and Esther K. Childers. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Comer is survived by a son, Donald Thomas of Jefferson; one daughter, Donna Jean Comer of Albert Lee, Minnesota; two sisters, Ruth Hayes and husband Donald of Boone, and Linda Brooks of Jefferson; two granddaughters, and several cousins also survive.
