Mr. James Raymond Crandall, better known as "Jim" age 61, of Grassy Creek passed away Wednesday morning, December 3, 2014 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive on Saturday from 11:00-1:00 pm; two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Crandall was born in Binghamton, NY on September 15, 1953 to Ray Myrl and Ella Mae Robinson Crandall. He worked for IBM for 19 years; where he worked in Operations Support. Later he was owner/manager of Johnson-Paschal Floral Company in Raleigh, for 12 years. He loved to cook for his family and friends in his spare time. He was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed story telling. He is survived by his wife, of 36 Years of marriage, Beth Stanton Crandall; two daughters, Julie Cooper and husband, Matt, of Charlotte and Annette Bledsoe and husband, Kenneth, of Alexandria, VA; his parents, Ray and Ella Crandall, of Windser, New York; a sister, Barbara Warner and husband, Gordon, of Carrollton, Ohio; three grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Barbara Newton, of Hancock, NY; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted.
