Mr. Billy Joe Dixon, age 89, of Jefferson passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at Watauga Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 10:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Brooks officiating. Mr. Dixon was born in Ashe County on November 2, 1926 to the late Conley and Lucy Kelly Dixon. He worked as a Produce Salesman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Conley Dixon and a sister, Peggy Ann Barker. Mr. Dixon was survived by a daughter, Deidra Gold and husband, Steve, of West Highland Park, IL; an aunt, Nancy Bare and husband, W.D., of Crumpler; two grandchildren, Martin Gold and Elliott Gold; several nieces and nephews also survive.
