Mr. Allen Stuart McRimmon, Sr. better known as "Stuart" age 90, of West Jefferson passed away Friday morning, January 9, 2015 at Independent Village at Old Raleigh. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00pm at Mount Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Heyward officiating. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson City Cemetery with military rites. Mr. McRimmon was born in Robeson County on Monday, January 21, 1924 to the late Neil J. and Emma Moore McRimmon. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He graduated for NC State, where he stayed an avid sports fan. He retired as a civil engineer from Carolina Steel located in Greensboro, NC. He had a strong faith in Christ and loved to play golf in his spare time. Stuart also in enjoyed his travels with his wife, Lib. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Graybeal "Lib" McRimmon; two sons, Gray McRimmon, of Naples, FL and Allen McRimmon, of Raleigh; a brother, Archie McRimmon, of Laurenburg; two grandchildren, Amy Blackwelder and husband, Derek, of Raleigh and Benjamin McRimmon and wife, Samantha, of Cary; two great-grandchildren, Bella McRimmon and Nolan McRimmon; several nieces and nephews also survive.
