Mrs. Delra Roten Jones, age 101, of Warrensville passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 5pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, Rev. Wayne Osborne and Rev. Margaret Wannamacher officiating. A private burial will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 4:00-5:00pm, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, May 27, 1913 to the late Henry and Hattie Jones Roten. She worked for many years as the Postmaster of the Clifton Post Office and later retired, after 22 years, from Sprague Electric. Delra was a wonderful cook and specialized in pies and biscuits. She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death her husband, Worth A. Jones; a son, Joseph Worth Jones; a granddaughter, Linda Harvey; a great-great grandson, Caleb Stopper; a brother and five sisters. Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons, Wayne Jones and wife, Bobbie, of Warrensville and Jerry Jones and wife, Ann, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Juanita Leek, of West Jefferson; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; twelve great, great-grandchildren; seven great, great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
