Mr. Marshall Ward Black, age 88, of Jefferson passed away Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2015 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. Marshall was born in Ashe County on September 3, 1926 to the late Lee and Dora Stanley Black. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Nancy Black; two sons, Raymond Black and wife Jodi of West Jefferson, and Ernie Black and wife Kelly of Jefferson; one granddaughter, Kendra LeAnn Black; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
