Mr. Hill Henry Gentry, age 102, of Todd passed away Thursday morning, February 19, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Eggers and Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Gentry was born in Ashe County on March 29, 1912 to the late Troy Gentry and Cora Houck Gentry. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by seven brothers; Wint, Bower, Worth, Homer, Wayne, Reeves, and Bryan Gentry; two sisters, Winnie Holman and Hilda Horton. He is survived by two sons; Bob Gentry and wife Barbara of Abingdon, and Carl Gentry and wife Janis of Abingdon; one daughter; Jane Pierce and husband Zane of Abingdon; six grandchildren, Chloe Schreiber and husband Thomas of Palm Harbor, Florida, Sharon Gentry of Johnson City, Tennessee, Beverly Wright and finance Albert of Kingsport, Tennessee, Lisa Greenway and husband Bryan of Bristol, Virginia, Amanda Pierce of Granite Falls, North Carolina, and Linda Worley and husband Travis of Abingdon, Virginia; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
