Mr. Wayne Elzie Elliott, age 78, of West Jefferson, died Tuesday morning, April 21, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Edwards and Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Thursday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mr. Elliott was born in Ashe County on October 15, 1930 to the late Avery Walton and Carrie Roark Elliott. He served in the United State Army. He was a retired Real Estate Agent. He is survived by his wife, Lenoir McNeill Elliott; two sons, Garry Elliott and wife, Tammy, of West Jefferson and Keith Elliott and wife, Carol, of West Jefferson; two daughters , Shelia Blevins of West Jefferson and Anita Johnson and husband, Tom, of Grassy Creek; two sisters, Vilena South of West Jefferson and Viola Eller of Lansing; five grandchildren, Dustin Elliott and wife, Brandy, Jonathan Blevins, Brandon Johnson and wife, Krissy, Buffy Flowers and husband, Eric and Kelly Blevins; three great-grandchildren, Dakota Elliott, Michael Elliott and Ethan Sizemore; several nieces and nephews also survive.
