Mrs. Lillian Jane Roten Jones, better known as "Lilly" age 69, of North Wilkesboro, formerly of Ashe County passed away Monday morning, March 2, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arlie Roten and Rev. Sonny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Thursday, March 5, 2015, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, September 18, 1945 to the late Harrison Samuel and Chessie Mae Wingler Roten. She was a loving and giving person; a good listener to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening; selling items at flea markets. Lilly enjoyed watching her favorite driver Jeff Gordan of Nascar. She also enjoyed watching her soap opera. She was a loving wife, step mother and sister and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Shepherd Johnson and Ruby Miorkio; two brothers, Gilbert Roten and Ralph Roten. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, David Jones; a step son, Marty Jones, of North Wilkesboro; a step daughter, Charlotte Ann Jones, of Asheville; four brothers, Danny Roten, of Piney Ridge, Wade Roten, of North Wilkesboro, Jimmy Roten, of Rogersville, TN and Ray Roten, of North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Betty Roberts, of North Wilkesboro, Ruth Smith, of Valdese and Thelma Orren, of Glendale Springs; two grandsons, Joseph Jones and Daniel Jones; several nieces and nephews also survive.
