Mrs. Kathleen Miller Barker, better known as "Kat" age 83, of Lansing passed away Saturday afternoon, March 7, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00am at New Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Dollar, Rev. Tommy Dollar, Rev. Joey McClure and Minister Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Barker was born in Ashe County on Saturday, May 30, 1931 to the late James and Lessie Clark Miller. She was a member of New Home Baptist Church. She worked at Sprague Electric and also at Ashe County Board of Elections. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earl Barker; a brother Kyle Miller. Mrs. Barker is survived by a daughter, Linda Dollar Walton and husband Steve, of Lansing; a brother, Bill Miller and wife, Dot, of West Jefferson; a sister , Shirley Sharpe and husband, John, of Lansing; a grandson, Chris Dollar and wife, Jennifer, of Lansing; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Noah Dollar; a special niece (granddaughter), Lesa Absher and husband, Teddy, of Crumpler and a special nephew (grandson), Mitch Miller and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh; three great nephews (great-grandchildren), Ryan Absher, Grayson Miller and Seth Miller, all of Raleigh also survive.
