Mr. James Edward Houck, age 66, of Todd, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Smethport Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Arnold, Rev. Chris Goodman, and Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Smethport Baptist Church prior to the funeral. Mr. Houck was born in Ashe County on Monday, May 10, 1948 to Carl and Pauline Jarvis Houck. He was a member of Smethport Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Houck; a son, Stephen Houck and wife Chasity of Lenoir; one daughter, Laura King and husband Eric of Hastings, Florida; his father, Carl Houck of Lansing; three brothers, Donnie Houck and wife Betty Lou of Jefferson, Gale Houck and wife Janet of Crumpler, and Kenneth Houck and wife Donna of Chilhowie, Virginia; one sister, Marie Ring and husband Bob of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren, Brittany Swiney of Bastrop, Louisiana, Kelly Houck of Lenoir, and Sarah Houck of Lenoir; several nieces and nephews also survive.
