Mr. William Clint Dancy, age 85, of Crumpler passed away Tuesday morning, September 16, 2008 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Senter Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bobby Absher and Elder Ed Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Dancy was born in Ashe County on Thursday, October 5, 1922 to the late Alvin Lee Dancy and Ginny Colvard Dancy. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Senter Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dancy, of the home; a son, Bill Dancy of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Linda Whittington and husband, Sam, of Wilkesboro; three sisters, Iva Hilliard of Ohio, Elma Jean Hartsog and husband, Tom, of Wilkesboro and Mary Sue Bare and husband, Jimmy of Jefferson; five grandchildren, David, Lisa, Chris, Randy and Dawn; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
