Mrs. Frances Jeannette Richardson Turnmire, age 83, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. J.D. Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Turnmire was born in Ashe County on July 12, 1931 to the late Joseph Richardson and Della Ring. Frances was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She worked at Sprague Electric and later in life worked at Western Steer. She enjoyed company and loved talking about her children and grandchildren. She loved her church and enjoyed going as long as her health allowed. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter David Turnmire; a brother, Riley (Shorty) Turnmire. Mrs. Turnmire is survived by three sons, Tracy Turnmire and wife, Jeanne, of Lynchburg, Virginia, Stacy Turnmire and wife, Margie, of West Jefferson and David Turnmire, of Millers Creek; a daughter, Judy Winebarger and husband, Danny, of West Jefferson; three half-brothers , Walter Alfred Turnmire of China Grove, Frankie Turnmire, of Kannapolis and Melvin Turnmire, of Kannapolis; a half-sister, Sophia Kelly, of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
