Obituary of Barbara Jane Smith

Mrs. Barbara Jane Smith, age 78, of West Jefferson, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Wake Forest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2:00PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Goodman and Rev. Jim Rash officiating. Burial will follow in the Bald Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born in White County, Tennessee on May 2, 1937 to the late Benjamin Clay Danner and Jessie Marie Greene. She was a member of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted friend. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Smith. She is survived by one son; Shane Smith of Jefferson, one daughter; Pam Miller and husband Jeff of West Jefferson, one brother; Ben Danner and wife Judy of Stockbridge GA, one sister; Donna Sherryl Noble and husband E.B. of Conyers, Georgia; three grandchildren; Noelle Miller of West Jefferson, Caleb Miller of West Jefferson, and Shayla Miller of West Jefferson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
