Mrs. Rosella Atwood Shatley, age 71, of Crumpler, passed away Monday morning, May 18, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 7:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kirby McNeill and Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Shatley was born in Ashe County on January 13, 1944 to the late Calvin and Gladys McGuire Atwood. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband; Edgar Shatley; two brothers; Kenneth Atwood and Wade Atwood; and two sisters; Faye Dunn and Jean Atwood. Mrs. Shatley is survived by two daughters; Carolyn Osborne and husband Jim of Crumpler, and Donna Busby of Crumpler, two sons; Barry Ray Shatley of Crumpler, and Robert Shatley and wife Penny of Crumpler; one brother; Delbert Atwood and wife, Venice, of Pennsylvania; three sisters; Barbara Barker of Crumpler, Nell Howell and husband John of Crumpler, and Maxine Friesland and husband Howard of Jefferson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
