Mr. William “Bill” Greer, age 59, of Creston died Wednesday at his home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Rash and Rev. Russell Sheets officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Greer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Saturday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Greer was born in Watuaga County on April 17, 1956 to the late Lawson and Ruth Woodring Greer. He was an excellent mechanic. He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by a brother, Tom Greer; a nephew, Joey Canter; and a great nephew, Justin Canter. He is survived by his best friend and mother to this children, Kim Eller; three sons, David Greer of the home, Kevin Greer of the home, Chad Greer and wife Katlyn of Creston; three brothers, Jim Greer and wife Shirley of Lenoir, Chip Greer and wife Donna of Lenoir, and Larry Greer and wife Kimberly of Lansing; three sisters, Barbara Canter and husband JT of Creston, Kathy Rash and husband Frankie of Creston, and Debra Chandler of Lenoir; two grandchildren, Penny Greer and Matthew Greer; and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, C/O Boone Family Funeral Home, PO Box 786, West Jefferson, NC 28694. The family will be meeting at the home of Barbara Canter at 1733 Ben Bolen Road in Creston.
