Mr. James Bryan Gentry better known as “Jim”, age 75, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday evening at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday 4pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Miller and Rev. Jack Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones Gentry; two daughters, Linane Gentry of West Jefferson and Cheryl Gentry of Hendersonville; one sister, Gwyn Elliott of West Jefferson; two grandchildren, Kelton and Colby Lewis; and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Class of 1957 Beaver Creek Scholarship Fund, PO Box 2851, Hickory, NC 28603.
