Mr. Hassel Boyce, age 88, of Crumpler passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donald Medley, Rev. Wayne Jones and Rev. John Junior Delozier officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Alleghany County with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Boyce was born in West Virginia on Tuesday, July 20, 1926 to the late Oliver and Myrtle Maude Roberts Boyce. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Brookside Baptist Church; where he was the senior pastor. He enjoyed being outside hunting and working in his garden. He also enjoyed bowling. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Delbert Boyce, Gerold Oliver Boyce and Daniel Boyce; two sisters, Gladys Delozier and Lenna Cox. Mr. Boyce is survived by his wife, Teresa Wyatt Boyce; a step-son, Scotty Sawyer Bare and wife, Rosanna, of North Wilkesboro; two step-daughters, Amanda Trish Burkett and husband, Michael, of Jefferson and Julie Bare Kilby and husband, Colt, of Piney Creek; two brothers, Vernon Nile Boyce, of Freeland, Maryland and Donald Keith Boyce, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Velma Mae Holloway, of Stewarts Town, PA, Eithel Keller, of Red Lion, PA and Linda Lee, of Stewarts Town, PA; His in-laws, Cecil and Dorothy Wyatt, of Sparta; his sisters--in-law, Debbie Milligan, of North Wilkesboro, Debbie Boyce and Phyllis Boyce; six step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
