Obituary of James Horton Absher

Mr. James Horton Absher, age 89, of Crumpler passed away Tuesday morning, June 23, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey McClure officiating. Burial will follow in the Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on thursday, June 25, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Absher was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, June 22, 1926 to the late James S. and Denia Senter Absher. James Horton was a hardworking man; always was working and riding his four wheeler around the farm. He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Elizabeth) Absher and three brothers, Don Absher, Walter Absher and Emmett Absher. Mr. Absher is survived by four sons, Buddy Absher, of Mocksville, Dane Absher and wife, Geneva, of Crumpler, Bucky Absher, of Crumpler and Teddy Absher and wife, Lesa, of Crumpler; four daughters, Jean Williams, of Crumpler, Mary Jane Lyall and husband, Tony, of Crumpler, Judy Jenkins and husband, Bill, of Crumpler and Joyce Carson and husband, Larry, of Crumpler; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Senter Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Bobby Absher, 183 Old Ridge Road, Crumpler, NC 28617.
