Mr. Benny Bob Roop, age 65, of Lansing passed away Sunday night, July 19, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Lewis and Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Mr. Roop was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, July 11, 1950 to the late Lester and Alice Reeves Roop. He worked at United Chemi-Co for 46 years. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 30 years; Carol Eldreth Roop, four daughters; Jennifer Miller and husband Jason of Crumpler, Allison Roop of West Jefferson, Angie Allen of Lansing, and Allysa Roten and husband James of West Jefferson, one sister; Liz McNeill and husband Larry of Lansing, four grandchildren; Jamie Roten, Wesley Roten, Natalie Allen, and Madox Dillow, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
