Elder Thomas Dale Adams, age 60, of Lansing, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Bluferd Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Sexton Family Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Adams was born in Ashe County on March 8, 1949 to the late Vernie Adams and Lottie Roberts Adams. He drove a School Bus for 20 years at several different schools, Lansing Elementary School, Northwest Ashe High School Driver and Blue Ridge Elementary School. He was also preceded in death by a niece, Tammy Finley and a brother-in-law, Larry Roten. Mr. Adams is survived by wife, Barbara Houck Adams; two sons, Eddie Adams and wife, Franny, of Lansing and Timothy Adams and wife, Jennifer, of Lansing; two daughters, Cher Adams of North Wilkesboro and Melena Church and husband, Jacky, of North Wilkesboro; his mother, Lottie Adams of Lansing; a brother, Jim Adams of Creston; three sisters, Lena Mae Finley of Lansing, Linda Brooks of Lansing and Sandy Roten of Lansing; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
