Mrs. Ruth Elliott Huffman age 92, of Crumpler passed away Sunday night, August 2, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night, August 5, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Huffman was born in Ashe County on February 16, 1923 to the late Thomas and Flora Elliott. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Huffman and an infant son, Stephen; two brothers Bluford Elliott and Raymond Elliott; a sister, Winifred Rash; a sister-in-law, Lessie Elliott; a brother-in-law, Virgil Rash; a son-in-law, Jimmy Dobbins. Mrs. Huffman is survived by a son, Keith Allen Huffman and wife, Tammy, of Crumpler; a daughter, Sandra Huffman Snow and husband, Tim, of Dobson, NC; three grandchildren, Brittany Huffman Phillips and husband, Justin, of West Jefferson, Ryan Huffman and wife, Meaghan, of Crumpler and Preston Huffman and fiancé Holly Roten, of Crumpler; three great-grandchildren, Reagan Caroline Phillips of West Jefferson, Austin Keith Phillips of West Jefferson and Silas Keith Huffman, of Crumpler; three sisters-in-law, Gwen Elliott, Muriel Nuckolls and Yudy Huffman; a brother-in-law, Jim Huffman and wife LuAnn; twenty nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends and neighbors also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Ryan Huffman at 1460 Shatley Road in Crumpler.
