Mrs. Rita Lynn Severt Pruitt, age 62, of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Obids Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Harless and Rev. Michael Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Pruitt was born on September 11, 1953 in Ashe County to the late Millard Severt and Eula Miller Severt. She was a nurse assistant. Rita was a member of Obids Baptist Church. She had many talents such as painting, quilting and making cakes. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Pruitt. Mrs. Pruitt is survived by two sons, William "Roy" Day and wife, Stephanie, of Candler, NC and Randall Day and wife, Melissa, of Horseshoe, NC; a daughter, Jennifer Miller and husband, Jason, of Crumpler; two step daughters; a step son; her mother, Eula Miller Blevins, of Jefferson; a sister, Linda Osborne and husband, Carl, of Jefferson; a brother, Clayton Severt, of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Alex Day, Katelyn Day and Tyler Day; three brothers-in-law, Larry Honeycutt of Kings Creek, NC, Johnny Honeycutt and wife, Francis, of Lenoir and Scotty Honeycutt and wife, Cheryl, of Lenoir; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Bowlin of Lenoir and Rebecca Honeycutt, of Lenoir; a special friend, Oscar Day, of Jefferson; four step grandchildren;a1 step great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Linda Osborne at 1174 Friendship Baptist Church Road in Jefferson.
