Mr. John Scott Shatley, age 55, of Lansing, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 Wake Forest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Roten and Rev. Jimmy Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Shatley was born in Ashe County on May 23, 1960 to the late Arnold Grant Shatley and Betty Turner Shatley. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his horses and mule team. He was a loving father and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by brother; Donnie Shatley, and his companion; Mandy Taylor. Mr. Shatley is survived by his son; Christoper Shatley of Lansing, his mother; Betty Shatley of Lansing, five sisters; Sue Pruitt and husband Olan of Lansing, Shelia Wood and husband Ray of Lansing, Barbara Worley and husband Mark of Warrensville, Debbie Brown and husband Cecil of Taylorsville, and Jane Glenn and husband Mike of Spruce Pine, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
