Mr. Bobby Galen Lyle better known as “Bob” age 77, of West Jefferson passed away Wednesday evening at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Elder Eddie Lyle, Brother Ralph Smith, and Rev. J.B. Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis-Ham Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 12:30-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Lyle was born in Ashe County on December 23, 1937 to the late Chester and Ethel Davis Lyle. He loved to fish and listen to Bluegrass music. He also made his own banjo. He enjoyed helping Mike work on his cars when he raced the dirt track. He is preceded in death by a sister, Belauh Lyle; and two brothers, Brian Lyle and Vernon Lyle “Buzz”. He is survived by his wife; Sadie Smith Lyle, one son; Mike Lyle and wife Julie of West Jefferson, two brothers, Elder Eddie Lyle and wife Vergie of West Jefferson and Joe Lyle and wife Susie of Jefferson, one sister-in-law; Elizabeth Lyle of Wilkesboro, one grandson; Dalton Lyle of West Jefferson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Davis-Ham Cemetery, C/O Rev. J.B. Hamm, 316 Honeysuckle Lane, Lansing, NC 28643. The family will be meeting at the home of Mike and Julie Lyle, 1253 Elliott Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
