Mr. Ambrose Andrew Gentry, Jr., “better known as Andrew”, age 77, of Todd passed away Friday morning at his home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 3pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Lewis and Rev. Andy Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday; two hours prior to the memorial service. Mr. Gentry was born in Harford County, Maryland on May 21, 1938 to the late Ambrose and Verna Joines Gentry. He loved nature and being outdoors. Andrew and Gail were able to enjoy one of their favorite passions, traveling around the country and sites around the world. His hobby was designing and building homes. He is preceded in death by a daughter; Shannon Knox, one brother; Steve Gentry, and a sister; Carol Sharpe. Mr. Gentry is survived by his wife, Gail Houck Gentry; one son, Shawn Gentry and wife Sheila of Todd; two brothers, William Gentry of Brevard and Joseph Gentry of Kernersville; four sisters, Betty Lewis of Todd, Helen Davis of Greensboro, Margaret Howell of Brevard, and Shirley Vannoy and husband Max of Pfafftown, two grandchildren; Grayson and Sonora Gentry, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
