Mr. Charlie William Osborne, age 81, of Lansing passed away Thursday at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 1:30PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd, Rev. Eddie Lewis, and Rev. Rex Eldreth officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldreth Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 6:30-8:30PM at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Osborne was born in Ashe County on November 13, 1934 to the late Roy and Minnie Cornette Osborne. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He was a fox hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was an easy going person and enjoyed sitting and watching people. He retired from Thomasville Furniture as a supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Jean Eldreth Osborne; one daughter, Parmalee Hartzog and husband Edward of West Jefferson; one brother, Ronnie Poe of Delaware; two granddaughters, Sonya Ellis and husband Travis of West Jefferson and Carla Williams and husband Matthew of West Jefferson, six great-grandchildren; Laken Ellis, Tayla Ellis, Mylah Ellis, Treythan Ellis, Evan Williams, and Callie Williams, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
