Mrs. Laura Testerman Wood, age 81, of Millers Creek passed away Friday morning, January 29, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Elder Eddie Lyle. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood was born in Ashe County on April 30, 1934 to the late Reece and Blanche Miller Testerman. She always had a dancing sparkle in her eye and a welcoming smile. Her sweetness and kindness was shown to her friends and family. She never wore any jewelry, her treasures were her family, her pride and joy, she was a bless your heart angel. She is preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Richard Wood, and a sister; Mamie Gentry. She is survived by four daughters; Geneva Sheets and husband Howard of Hickory, Donna Davis and husband Buzz of Deland, FL, Margie Blevins of Millers Creek, and Anna Settle of Millers Creek, one step-daughter; Dixie Gradowki and husband Bob of Jefferson, three sisters; Doris Nance of Anawalt, WV, Lillian Weissenburger of Runnemeade, NJ, and Alta Owens and husband Gary of Winsoboro, SC, three grandchildren; Riley Davis and wife Alisha of Deland, FL, Wesley Harmon of Seattle, WA, and Emily Settle of Millers Creek, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
