Mrs. Ruth Veatrice Johnson Miller Sheets, age 85, of Lansing died Wednesday night at her daughter's home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Roark, Rev. David Benfield, Brother Anthony Roark and Brother Jason Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheets was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, April 29, 1924 to the late Wiley Pinkney and Margaret Victoria Rose Johnson. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Sheets is survived by six sons, Mack Johnson and wife, Patty, of High Point, Paul Miller and wife, Lojeanne, of Lansing, Keith Miller and wife, Norma, of Lansing, Bruce Miller and wife, Ruth, of Warrensville, John Miller of Lansing and Gordon Miller of Mouth of Wilson, VA; four daughters, Sadie Arnold of Creston, Freda Blevins and husband, Gale, of White Top, VA, Rose Price and husband, James, of Creston and Candy Jones and fiance, Ed Blevins of Warrensville; a step son, Carroll Dean Miller and wife, Nettie, of Lansing; a brother, Paul Dean Johnson and wife, Shirley, of Winston-Salem; a sister, Rosie Taylor of White Top, VA; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
