Mr. Herbert Sexton age 85, of Lansing passed away Wednesday evening, February 3, 2016 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm on Saturday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Sexton was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on October 13, 1930 to the late Dalton and Maude Ring Sexton. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by three brothers; Grant Sexton, Warren Sexton, and Coolidge Sexton. He is survived by his wife, Mary Roberts Sexton; two brothers, Curtis Sexton of Rhonda, North Carolina and Thomas Sexton of Lansing, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
