Mr. Junior Alexander Garrett age 69, of West Jefferson died Monday evening at his Forest Ridge Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Beshears and Rev. Silas Hart officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Garrett was born in Ashe County on November 14, 1946 to the late Pinkey Garrett and Myrtle Hamilton. He enjoyed playing horseshoes. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; Harold Dean Garrett and Danny Kay Garrett, and three sisters; Mary Garrett, Shirley Bailey, and Joann Garrett. Mr. Garrett is survived by one son; Scott Garrett of Wilkesboro, His mother; Myrtle Garrett of West Jefferson, three brothers; Clifford Hamilton of Wilkesboro, and Eric Garrett of Lenoir, four sisters; Doris Parks of Wisconsin, Diane Hayes of Charlotte, Mildred Garrett of West Jefferson, and Valerie Garrett of West Jefferson, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
