Mr. Paul Edwin Taylor, age 87, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday night, March 16, 2016 peacefully at his home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11AM at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with Luke Cullifer officiating. Paul was born in Ashe County on June 22, 1928 to the late TW (Walt) Taylor and Annie Mae Goodman Taylor. He worked at Peerless Hosiery, Ray Taylor Well Drilling and retired from Leviton Manufacturing. Paul was a charter member or of Midway Baptist Church. Paul was a dedicated Christian and lived his life for the Lord. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and made sure everyone was provided for rather than himself. He loved his yardwork and serving the lord. Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Esther McCoy Taylor, four brothers; Bob, Wayne, Ray, (infant son) Roy, and a sister; Faye Goodman. Paul is survived by one son; Eddie Taylor and wife Trish of West Jefferson, three grandchildren; Shea of West Jefferson, Mandy and Matthew of Apex, NC, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
