Mrs. Pauline Jones Osborne, better known as "Polly", age 85, of West Jefferson passed away Monday morning, March 21, 2016 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin York and Rev. Herbert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Osborne was born in Warrensville (the Staggs Creek Community) on Wednesday, June 11, 1930 to the late Joseph Floyd and Bertha Savanna Reedy Jones. She retired from Beaver Creek High School, where she worked as their secretary. She was an active member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening but most of all her children and grandchildren. In her younger days she spent most of her days chasing her four children around because of their close ages. Later she enjoyed her grandchildren as well. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edward Osborne; two brothers, Wayne Jones and Kermit Jones; three sisters, Winnie Jones Thomas, Iona Ward and Helen Blanche Jones. Mrs. Osborne is survived by three sons , Marvin "Ed" Osborne and wife, Pam, of Wilkesboro, David Keith Osborne and wife, Cindy, of Raleigh and Michael Neil Osborne and wife, Joy, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Brenda Osborne McMillan and husband, Dan, of West Jefferson; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren on their way; two special caregivers, Wanda Severt and Carolyn Shurter; several nieces and nephews also survive.
