Dear Bard Family, each and all: I'm sad to read of Ralph's death. I send each of you heartfelt thoughts and sympathy in all these days of sorrow and loss. I remember Ralph from the summer of 1943 (I think!), and onward throughout the years...'43 because he stopped by our house at West Jefferson--in uniform--as he shipped out to a troubling, far away military assignment.
