Mr. Gene Dale Price, age 69, of Lansing passed away Saturday night, May 23, 2009 at the Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Roark officiating. Burial will follow in the Price Family Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Price was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, January 30, 1940 to the late Paul and Irene Mahala Price. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from the army in 1977. He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Price. He loved to watch the car races, fishing, woodworking and gardening. Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Elwanda Roop Price; three sons, Randolph Price and wife, Sherry, of Cochranville, PA, James Price of Johnson City, TN and Johnny Price and wife, Carrie, of Johnson City, TN; two daughters, Sylvia Buzov and husband, Miro, of High Point and Cynthia Paisley of Johnson City, TN; a step-daughter, Leisa Potter and husband, Robert, of Lansing; two brothers, Bobby Price and Billy Price of Creston; a sister, Josie Barker and husband, Howard, of Jefferson; sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three nieces and one niece also survive.
