Miss. Jewel Gertrude Weaver, age 88, of Creston, passed away Thursday night, May 5, 2016 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2PM at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Lindsay McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Saturday at Boone Family Funeral Home. Miss Weaver was born in Ashe County on October 29, 1927 to the late Lester Everette and Bessie Farmer Weaver. She was a Homemaker. She played the organ and always a good humor. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Weaver and Homer Weaver; three sisters, Vester Graybeal, Pauline Trilaman and Lucille Campbell. Miss Weaver is survived by a sister, Winnie Jean Greer, of Jefferson; a brother, Conley Weaver and wife, Louella, of Mt. City, TN; a sister-in-law, Ilean Weaver, of Maine; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted.
