Mrs. Thelma June Ham, age 76, of West Jefferson died Monday evening, May 25, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Hess and Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm on Thursday, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Ham was born in Ashe County on Friday, December 23, 1932 to the late Leo and Marie Perry Ham. She worked at Thomasville Furniture Company for several years before retiring. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dale Ham on January 4, 2004. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Ham and wife, Lois, of West Jefferson; two daughters, Debbie Ham and Phyllis Ham, both of West Jefferson; a brother, Bob Ham of Lansing; three sisters, Shirley Miller, Alma Miller and Shelby Greer, all of Lansing; a granddaughter, Angie Holman, of Millers Creek; a great-grandson, Dylan Holman of Millers Creek; a step grandson, Reggie Barker, of Siler City, NC; two step great-grandchildren, Samantha Barker and Bailey Barker, of Siler City, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
