Mrs. Betty Turner Shatley, age 82, of Lansing passed away Sunday night, June 19, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Eldreth, Rev. Tim Roten and Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm at Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Shatley was born in Ashe County on September 29, 1933 to the late Gordon and Minnie Johnson Turner. She enjoyed her word search puzzles and loved the beach. She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Arnold “Grant” Shatley, two sons; Donnie Ray Shatley and John Scott Shatley, and a brother; Jerold Turner. Mrs. Shatley is survived by five daughters; Sue Pruitt and husband Olan of Lansing, Barbara Worley and husband Mark of Warrensville, Debra Kay Brown and husband Cecil of Taylorsville, Jane Glenn and husband Mike of Spruce Pine, and Shelia Wood and husband Ray of Lansing; one brother, Robert Turner of Trinity; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
